How do I create a Jobcode?

The creation of a job code can be started in the Inactive products area via the job administration. Under "Actions" the Jobcode mask is called up and the interview is created. You can specify 1-10 interview questions. Alternatively, you can upload the questions as a video or record them directly via the metru Recruit app. Once all the information has been entered, the interview can be checked for errors and then uploaded. You can then publish the Jobcode and a link, QR and 4-digit numeric code will be available.

Text or video question? What should I use?

We recommend the use of video questions. They show who is behind the job advertisement, behind the company and which culture the company lives. The video questions strengthen your employer branding. The candidate gets the feeling of being interviewed authentically and will be happy to answer your questions.

The interview question is first defined as a text question. Each question can be up to 200 characters long. The videos are freely designed by the company and recorded using the metru Recruit app or uploaded on the website. We recommend a recording time of 20 to 30 seconds per question.

Can I reuse a Jobcode later?

After the expiration of a job code, it is possible to reactivate it and use it again. It should be noted that 2 months after the job code expires, the candidates, interviews and video questions are removed.

How many questions can I define for the interview?

A Jobcode contains a minimum of 1 and a maximum of 10 questions. Additional questions are possible if required. In addition, you have the opportunity to welcome your candidate with the help of an onboarding video, to introduce yourself briefly and thus ensure a pleasant start to the video interview.

Can I change the interview questions?

The interview questions can be changed and adapted at any time. It should be noted that after the adjustment, all subsequent interviews will be conducted on the basis of the changed questions.

How do I create a video question?

Via the metru Recruit app, a video question can be recorded and uploaded directly via smartphone. Optionally, you also have the possibility to upload your videos via the website.
Alternatively, production teams can also be used for the production. Here we will be happy to advise you if required. However, we recommend an independent production for reasons of authenticity.

What do I have to consider when creating?

An important point when recording video is the alignment of the smartphone camera. Our recommendation is to order the tripod right away. Look directly into the camera. Don't just look up or down. Don't worry about tapping the Rec button when starting and stopping recording. These can easily be edited away after recording. The right video light makes for clear images. Filming against the sun is not a good idea. The smartphone usually controls the exposure automatically. Use daylight and the window as a light source. In the evening, artificial light looks rather bad.

Is there a calm and tidy background? It is better not to choose a white background. This is because the camera tries to focus on the brightest areas.
With a white background, this leads to a darkening of the image in the picture.

An important point when shooting video is clothing. Dress according to your position, according to the company culture.
Dress as you would for a job interview. It is best not to wear any logos or writing on your clothing. The viewer will get too much of you from the images and fonts.

Video editing can be done by trimming. This involves cutting off the beginning and end of the video.
Sound quality is the key to success in video recording. Make sure you have a quiet environment. Our recommendation: Order the lapel mic.

Other small tips for good videos: Thank the applicant for the answer from time to time, because the applicant must have already answered.
Some technical tips: A stable internet connection makes it easier to do the video. And please always shoot in landscape mode, as the video will be viewed in landscape mode later. If the flight mode of the smartphone is activated, no call can disturb the recording.

What does the metru interview process look like?

Depending on how you communicated about the topic, the candidate receives either a link to start the interview, a QR code or a numerical code. He starts the interview via web (a device with Kamara), IOS or Android. So he starts setting the recording position. Now the answering of the questions can be done. Similar to a real interview, the question is asked first and then answered.
Depending on how much time and repetition you have given to the candidate, he answers the interview questions. After all the questions are answered, the app will edit the questions along with the answers and give you an overall video with the relevant data available in Canditate Management.

How long are the video interviews available?

The video interviews are stored on our server for the period of personalization plus 2 months and then automatically deleted.

What about Jobcode and privacy?

The video interviews are stored on servers located in Germany. All very secure and reliable.
The EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) has been in force since 25 May 2018. Our video recruiting process is fully compliant with the GDPR. We look forward to answering any questions you may have on this topic.

What is a Jobcode Pro?

The Jobsode PRO supports you optimally with your recruiting through an AI. The AI analyzes the language through the video interview effects, emotions and characteristics of a person. How does the AI work?

As a recruiter, you do not have the option to log in to the metru app. This app is only for the candidates. The right app for recruiters is the metru Recruit App.

What is the difference between metru job ad and other job ads?

The metru Job Ad supplements the job advertisement with a company presentation, job description, requirement profile and the description of benefits with the option of the job video and the elements logo, photos for the company gallery and the optional link to job codes. You get the maximum performance in one product.

How do I create a Job Ad?

When you create the Job Ad, you first add general information about the job posting. For example, you define the job title, the degree required, the compensation level, the career stage, and other characteristics of the job. Then, describe the duties the candidate will perform, the desired qualifications, and the benefits you offer the candidate. How can I create a Jobvideo ?

First, download the metru Recruit app from the App or Play Store. In a short preparation you determine which content you want to convey. Use our four guiding questions or access your content. The questions and answers will be recorded via video using your smartphone. We recommend using Jobvideo in conjunction with JobAD. Optimization then continues via the app: cutting the footage, adding a logo to the opener, and underlaying the spoken word with sound files. An outro is automatically added to your Jobvideo .

What should you consider when recording?

When creating a good smartphone video, there are a few things you should pay attention to.

The light

I started recording my Jobvideo . After question 3 I made a mistake, I was happy with the previous parts. Why can't I use them and have to start over?

Merging video sequences that were shot at different times causes some adjustment problems. What functions does the metru applicant management system offer?

All applicants are displayed and given a status. Candidate management allows notes to be created and ratings to be assigned. The recruiter calls up a candidate profile, writes a message and views the interviews. Notes and ratings can be shared with colleagues.

Can I integrate the applications displayed in metru applicant management into my ATS?

Yes, integration into your ATS is possible in principle. The integration depends on the type of ATS.

Can I exchange messages with the candidate, e.g. for queries?

Yes. You can use the edit function to share. Here you can write notes that are visible to your colleagues. You can also share the candidate with your colleagues without a metru account via email.

How does the candidate evaluation work?

On the one hand you have the star rating, on the other hand you can write a note. But be careful! Your note is visible for all recruiters. In the field of the individual candidate you can rate.

How long are applications available in applicant management?

Applications and video interviews are available for the period of the job posting plus two months. After that they will be deleted.

Can I delete an application?

Yes, the application and the job interview can be deleted. The candidate profile remains without access.

Can I filter my candidates?

Filtering is possible for new and old candidates, for status screening and status. You can also filter by high or low rankings.

What does passing on an application mean?

Via the release function, you have the option to release a candidate for external colleagues or, as a recruiter, to release candidates for your customers by entering an email address. They do not need access to a recruiter account, but only need to confirm their email address to see a candidate.

What can I configure in the metru settings?

In the metru settings you can make changes to your company-related data. In your user account, your protected area you can edit name changes, your e-mail address and change the access password to the metru account. Even if you have forgotten your password, you can request a new password here. In the user administration you define who has access to the candidates and who of your colleagues can participate in the evaluation of the candidates. In the "Notifications" you define at which event you want to receive an email notification from metru. In the menu "Integrations" you can connect to WebEX Teams.

What can I edit in my Recruiter account?

Within your metru account you enter your first and last name, your email address and your password. You also have the option to change your profile picture in the box on the left. This is visible for your colleagues as well as for applicants.

What can I define in the user administration?

Invite colleagues to collaborate in the user management or delete colleagues from the user management. You can integrate colleagues into your recruiting team by entering their first and last name, email address, and department affiliation information.

Which settings are possible under the generic term "Company"?

In this field you enter the company name and the industry and classify your company according to the number of employees working in your company. You can also insert your company logo here.

What notifications can I set?

Under the term notifications you have various options to be notified by e-mail. Notifications are possible for a new message in your metru inbox, a new application received or a new note or rating for a candidate.

Which integrations are possible in the metru settings?

Integrate WebEX Teams with your metru account. WebEX offers the possibility to share the presentation of a metru interview video in your team via "Group Messages". All group members can access the candidate videos without having a metru account. This way, team leaders, employees and external parties can be involved in the staff selection process.

What are the points in job management?

In the order management you will find your inactive products, the active products and already discontinued metru products. Inactive products are metru products that have been purchased but not yet used. Active products are already used by you in recruiting. From here you can also edit individual positions, download the link or QR code to a product or switch to applicant management.

Can I write messages to my applicants?

You can write messages to your applicants. You can use the chat function to get in touch with the applicants and also have the option of attaching files to a message and sending them.
